A Night at the Opera                   (grades 6-7)

Drama, intrigue, and fun! Get a glimpse into the exciting world of opera when the Greenwich Symphony invites special guest singers to perform some of opera’s most well loved arias and overtures. Learn the role that the orchestra plays in opera to bring out the funniest and most dramatic moments with the singers. Try to keep up with Figaro as he sings his most famous aria from The Barber of Seville. Enjoy soprano and baritone soloists performing Mozart’s delightful “Papageno/Papagena” duet from his Magic Flute opera. Hear how the orchestra uses the overture to set up the intrigue, suspense and humor for the opera that follows.
