Greenwich High School Student Center
Greenwich Symphony Orchestra offers audiences a rare glimpse of music making from inside the orchestra on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 3:30 pm. In collaboration with InsideOut Concerts, the GSO will present their very first immersive concert welcoming audience members on stage to experience a performance of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.
Led by InsideOut Concerts Music Director David Bernard, this InsideOut event precedes the Greenwich Symphony January 11-12 concert weekend.
"Hidden deep inside every classical concert—outside the view of the audience—is an incredible show that is as spellbinding as the most captivating entertainment produced today,” says David Bernard, Director of InsideOut Concerts. “Sharing the thrilling experience that is usually only available to performers, audiences will not just hear great music, they will be surrounded and enveloped by it. It's an experience that is both immersive and unforgettable!”
As with other immersive productions, InsideOut is a premium event, one which Bernard compares to the effect of IMAX on cinema-goers or Immersive Theatre on audiences. “We are thrilled to be working with David Bernard and InsideOut Concerts,” says Greenwich Symphony Orchestra President Mary Radcliffe. “The Greenwich Symphony Orchestra is committed not only to producing concerts of the highest caliber, but also to increasing our reach to every member of the Southern New England Community. Through this InsideOut Concert, we hope to bring our community inside the amazing music-making experience that occurs at every performance.”
“It is thrilling for both the audience and the orchestra to engage in the shared experience of an InsideOut Concert,” says Greenwich Symphony’s Music Director David Gilbert. “By inviting the audience on stage with us, they experience the electricity of music making that could only be imagined out in the audience seats. And it is wonderful for the musicians to experience the audience reaction during the performance in full view.”
Admission for this extraordinary experience is $65 for general admission and $45 for seniors/students with ID. Tickets are available online by clicking here.
