Meet the Soloists!                    (grades 4-5)
November 15, 2016

Have you ever heard an accordion solo with orchestra? Have you ever seen someone your own age play a piano concerto with orchestra? This is the first time in the history of the Greenwich Symphony’s Young People’s concerts that we will have an entire concert dedicated to soloists. You will have the opportunity to hear some of the amazing musicians of the Greenwich Symphony, as well as two very special guest artists from near and far, as they perform solos and a duet with the Greenwich Symphony. Come hear the fun and fast-paced Mozart Horn Concerto played by our very own principal horn player. Experience the cool sounds of the “Concerto for Vibraphone and Clarinet,” a piece by composer Max Simoncic (our conductor’s father). Our principal cellist will play a beautiful Rondo by Dvořák. Special guest accordionist, Guy Klucevsek, will show off his skills on the accordion with his piece “Ratatatatouille” for accordion and orchestra. And a very special guest, ten-year-old Carlotta Maestrini, will come all the way from Italy to perform the Haydn Piano Concerto. We can’t wait to see you there!
