Diane Lesser

Principal Oboist

Diane Lesser has been the principal oboist of the GSO since 1980, New York Pops, Amici New York, Long Island Philharmonic, among others. She also performs regularly in such vocal and instrumental ensembles as the Voices of Ascension Chorus and Orchestra, Musica Sacra, Oratorio Society, and National Chorale. For ten years she was principal oboist of the EOS Ensemble. Ms. Lesser has appeared as soloist with the Greenwich Symphony, Oklahoma's OK MOZART Festival, Dennis Keene Music Festival, Brooklyn's Bargemusic, and at the 1992 Festival Olympique Des Arts in Albertville, France. Active in the world of commercial music, Ms. Lesser can be heard on recent recordings accompanying Madonna on MDNA, Lena Park, Barry Manilow, Nell, Elaine Paige, Paul Simon, and Tony Bennett. She has also played at diverse venues such as the Grammy Awards, Sesame Street, the 1992 Olympics in France, and at the White House.
