Giuseppe Verdi, Requiem
The Greenwich Choral Society and Greenwich Symphony Orchestra are proud to join forces for Verdi's monumental Requiem.
Founded in 1926, the Greenwich Choral Society is one of the region's leading choral ensembles, dedicated to excellence in the performance of great choral music. Serving audiences throughout Fairfield County, Connecticut, and Westchester County, New York, the chorus presents major choral-orchestral works with professional orchestras and distinguished soloists.
Over its nearly century-long history, the Greenwich Choral Society has performed at Carnegie Hall, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, and has toured internationally throughout Europe. The ensemble has also commissioned and premiered works by notable composers including Stephen Paulus, William Schuman, Michael Schelle, and Adolphus Hailstork.
The Greenwich Choral Society is led by Christine Howlett, Associate Professor and Director of Choral Activities at Vassar College. Together with the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra, the chorus continues a long tradition of bringing the great masterworks of the choral repertoire to audiences throughout the region.
