Suzanne Lio

Executive Director

Suzanne is a passionate and dedicated leader in the non-profit sector, committed to making a positive impact in arts and culture. She was formerly Managing Director/Chief Operating Officer of the Bruce Museum in Greenwich. At the the Bruce Museum, where she oversaw its new construction, Suzanne specialized in strategic planning, fundraising, and developing unique educational programs and community projects for non-profits. 

Bringing over fifteen years of experience to the helm of the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra, Suzanne has demonstrated exceptional leadership in fostering meaningful change. Suzanne’s former work in the education and grant writing fields has also shaped her leadership approach, and has made her a passionate advocate for equity, excellence, and diversity in cultural education. 

She believes in giving back to the community through active membership and volunteerism, particularly focused on the town where she was raised, Killingworth, CT. 

Suzanne’s background in arts/non-profit administration has equipped her with a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by cultural institutions, and she is unwavering in her determination to address these challenges head-on for the GSO.
